About Adult Psychological Evaluations

Psychological evaluations include a battery of tests administered by our evaluation team to assist individuals in understanding their personal strengths and weaknesses. The profile is used to determine what interventions may be most beneficial.  PSLN evaluations are unique in that individuals are assessed with the most recent research-based tools available in the field.

A PSLN clinician will provide individual one-on-one assessment.  Each evaluator has a graduate degree in psychology, as well as post-graduate training to remain up to date on various assessment measures. 

PSLN offers adult psychological evaluations that assess for emotional disorders, ADHD, and learning impairments.  Evaluations may be self-initiated, or treatment providers refer individuals for evaluation to assist with refining treatment goals, obtaining the most accurate diagnoses, and further understanding of an individual’s symptoms.

The length of the assessment varies dependent upon which tests we feel we must administer to understand your specific needs. However, we typically allow 2 to 5 hours of one-on-one testing to complete a battery of tests. Please note that this may vary based on individual differences.

Your first appointment is critical to the development of an evaluation plan. Please bring any previous evaluations you have had and be prepared to provide information regarding your medical, developmental, mental health, academic, and family history.

Yes. Psychological Solutions of Lake Norman is an independent private psychological practice; therefore, you have complete control of the information gained during the evaluation.  It is released to others only with your permission.

The results of your testing will be reviewed following the assessment with you by one of our clinicians.  At this time, you will be made aware of strengths and concerns, any appropriate diagnoses, our specific recommendations, and referral information (for counseling, further testing, and in some cases, medication management). You will receive a written report with all assessment information and recommendations approximately two or three weeks later.

The cost of the assessment varies dependent upon several factors, including the time necessary to complete the assessment, and your insurance benefits.  Please contact our office to determine if we have a preferred provider relationship with your insurer.  Individuals with out-of-network plans are provided with a completed insurance claim form to submit to their insurance company to access their benefits. We are pleased to assist you in seeking reimbursement from your insurance company. We also accept Visa, Mastercard and debit cards.
